JJ Agro and Cattle Farm

Bovines

From the majestic Kankeyam to the hardy Gir, our farm is a haven for many extradinary creatures. Here goes the list of native cow and oxen breeds of our farm starting from Thenpandi, Thiruvannamalai, Kankeyam of Tamil Nadu, Gir, Tharparkar, Kankrej of Gujarat and other western states India, Rathi of Rajasthan, Ongole of Andhra, Sahiwal of Current Pakistan, Punjab, Haryana.

We rear both milking cows and oxen. Our oxen are trained to participate in Jalli kattu, Rekla Races during festival times. We also encourage our village people to develop native breeds by allowing traditional mating with our oxen.

We also rear Miniature Cow breeds such as Punganoor, Veychoor, Kasarkodu and Buffalos such as Murrah and other country breeds.

Goat breeds

like Kanni, Kodi, Jamunabari. Sheeps of Vembur, Kilakarsal, Mecheri etc.,

Join us for an immersive experience and gain insights into the importance of conserving these valuable genetic resources.

All our livestock are given to feed our own in-house organically grown fodder crops such as Super Napier, COFS 29, CO FS 31, Agathi, Velimasal, Mul Murungai. The bovines in our farm give us the opportunity to produce 100% Organic A2 Ghee. Furthermore the manure from the shed allows us to produce Organic Compost manure along with Vermi-compost.

Horses and Donkey

We also rear varieties of horses like Marwari, Kathiawar, and other country breeds along with Donkeys.

Rabbits

You could also see our white Spot and Giant Rabbits roam around happily.

Poultry

We have wide varieties of country breed hens and roosters including the black beauties of Maharashtra – Kadaknath, Turkeys, Ducks and Guinea fowl.

Our farm is also a home for many varieties of Birds such as Ice Pigeon, Oriental Roller, Fancy Peacock, Budgies, Sun Conure, Cockatiels like Lutino, Ash Face etc., Also we can enjoy spotting the unique seasonal migratory birds that grace the farm with its presences.

The biggest joy of farm life is the ability to grow our own fruits and vegetables. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a basketful of fresh picked produce come into our kitchen in the mornings.

Along with the regular vegetables, we also grow wide range of trees. Here goes the list of fruit trees of our farm Guava, Amla, Apple, Pomegranate, Coconut, Jamun Tree, Moringa, Mango, Lemon, Custard Apple, Jack Fruit, Banana, Figs, Sappota, Palm Tree, areca nut palm, Kodukapuli (manila Tamarind/Madras Thorn), Kodampuli, Naarthai, Dragon Fruit, Papaya, Vizhaam fruit etc.,

We have a mix of annual and perennial flower plants, such as Rose, Jasmine, Pitchi, Hibiscus, Panneer Flower, Pavalamalli, etc.,

Timber Trees

Timber trees includes Teak, Mahogany, Red Sandal, Rosewood, Vengai, Sandal etc., Tropical Indian trees such as Neem, Pungai, Iluppai, Banyan, Pupil tree, Vaagai, Neermaruthu, Manjal Kadampu, Badam tree, Sarrakondrai, Sorkkam, Ashoka, Magilam, Vilvam,, Paneer Flower Tree, Alamada etc.,

Medicianal Plants

We also grow medicinal plants like Tulsi, Aloevera,Siriya nangai, Omavalli, Adathodai, Notchi, Patchilai, Kesavarthini, Mudakaththan, Pepper etc.,

Rare tree Species

We have several rare tree species such as Kadukkai, Elam, Thandrikai,Utracham, Karungali , THiruvodu, Jathikkai, Nagalingam etc.,

We have also planted more than 1000 palm trees inside our farm surroundings.

We also have an in-house nursery to produce quality saplings and plants.

Coconut Grove

From Our acres of coconut plantation, we could produce organic cold press Coconut oil.

Rainwater Harvesting

Thirunelveli being a dry area, with our rain water harvesting- by capturing monsoon rain water and storing in our in house pond helps to increase the ground water level and to irrigate our vegetation adequately.

We turn our cattle waste into Renewable energy. We utilizes cattle waste to produce Biogas, a sustainable source of energy for our farm kitchen, in turn we contribute to a greener and more self-sufficient farming operation.
